What Is ZaZa Media Co? Building an Independent Cannabis Publishing Company

People often ask me what ZaZa Media Co actually is.

The short answer is simple.

It's a cannabis media company.

The longer answer is still evolving.

When I started creating content, I was doing what many creators do—sharing products, documenting experiences, and talking about cannabis from the perspective of an Arkansas medical marijuana patient.

Over time, something shifted.

I realized I wasn't just interested in cannabis products.

I was interested in the people.

The policies.

The businesses.

The culture.

The stories that explain how this industry is changing and why those changes matter.

That's when ZaZa Media Co began to take shape.

More Than Social Media

Social media is where many people will discover my work, but it isn't the destination.

The destination is a growing library of articles, interviews, podcasts, photography, and educational content that explores cannabis through a broader lens.

It's to create work that people can come back to later because it's still useful, still interesting, and still relevant.

The Stories I'm Interested In

Cannabis isn't one story. Cannabis is making history, with thousands of stories happening at the same time.

I'm interested in questions like:

  • What does cannabis look like in medical-only states?

  • How are entrepreneurs building businesses in a constantly changing regulatory environment?

  • What happens after legalization headlines fade?

  • How do consumers navigate products, policies, and access?

  • What can we learn from the people doing the work every day?

Sometimes those answers come from an interview.

Sometimes they come from attending an industry conference.

Sometimes they come from conversations with patients, advocates, cultivators, retailers, scientists, or policymakers.

Why Independent Media Matters

The cannabis industry moves quickly.

Laws change.

Markets evolve.

Companies launch, merge, and close.

New research reshapes old assumptions.

In an environment that changes this often, independent media has an important role to play.

Not just reporting what happened.

Providing context.

Asking questions.

Connecting ideas.

Helping readers understand why something matters—not just that it happened.

That's the kind of storytelling I want ZaZa Media Co to become known for.

Where We're Going

This is just the beginning.

You'll see articles covering industry trends, interviews with people shaping the cannabis space, commentary on policy and consumer issues, podcast conversations, event coverage, and stories that highlight the people behind the headlines.

Some pieces will be educational.

Some will be analytical.

Some will simply celebrate the community that continues to build this industry despite its challenges.

If you've found your way here, thank you for reading.

Whether you're a patient, entrepreneur, advocate, professional, or simply curious about where cannabis is headed, I hope you'll follow along.

Because the most interesting stories in cannabis are still being written.
